Clean Water Wells & Nutrition Aid in Somalia

A

The Urgent Challenge

Access to clean drinking water and daily nutrition in rural Somalia has long been a daily struggle for hundreds of families. Before Hayaat Welfare Trust arrived, young children like Amina had to walk over four miles every morning across harsh terrain just to fetch contaminated water from open shallow ponds. Waterborne illnesses were rampant, and school attendance suffered heavily.

Our Ground Response & Direct Intervention

Thanks to the unwavering generosity of donors worldwide, Hayaat Welfare Trust constructed a solar-powered deep borehole well and established a community clean water distribution hub. Alongside clean water, regular nutritious family food parcels are provided to ensure balanced daily meals for every household.

Long-Term Community Transformation

“We no longer get sick from bad water, and I can now go to school with my friends every morning without missing classes,” shares Amina with a bright smile. Community health has improved dramatically, and infant waterborne illnesses have dropped by over 80% since the installation. A locally trained water management committee ensures sustainable upkeep for generations to come.
